This weekend, cardiovascular professionals from around the world will gather in New Orleans for the 2026 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Annual Scientific Session, happening March 28–30. The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) and Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute (AHMHI) will again have a strong presence—sharing groundbreaking research, clinical expertise, and educational leadership across dozens of sessions.

Together, AHMHI and MHIF faculty, trainees, and research staff will participate in 45 scientific sessions, representing nearly every major area of cardiovascular medicine. This broad participation underscores our shared mission to advance cardiovascular care through clinical research, education, and innovation.

Highlights from Our ACC 2026 Presence

  • 30+ accepted abstracts, including 9 moderated poster presentations
  • 3 late‑breaking clinical trials, led or co‑led by AHMHI and MHIF investigators
  • Multiple hands‑on learning sessions led by AHMHI faculty

24 trainee-led scientific presentations, showcasing our commitment to developing future leaders in cardiovascular medicine:

  • 9 intern presentations
  • 11 scholar presentations
  • 4 resident and fellow presentations

Our cardiovascular fellows will also represent Minnesota in the Fellows‑in‑Training (FIT) Jeopardy Competition, facing teams from Kentucky, Ohio, and Massachusetts in the first round on Saturday at 10 a.m. Good luck to our team!

Celebrating Excellence

We also extend our congratulations to Dr. Oksana Marchenko, MHIF Core Lab analyst, who will be inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) during this year’s meeting—a well‑deserved recognition of her contributions to cardiovascular imaging and research.

Advancing Science Together

These accomplishments reflect the collaboration, mentorship, and dedication of the physicians, investigators, trainees, and research staff who make MHIF and AHMHI a driving force in cardiovascular innovation. We’re proud to see their work represented on the global stage and look forward to sharing highlights from ACC 2026 in New Orleans in the weeks ahead.
