“Live in the moment and never give up” – Greg’s motto was also his way of life. He inspired others by exuding a positive outlook and forever smile.

For the past several years, Kate Riebe has organized a 5k run/walk in memorial for her late husband, Greg Riebe. This year is no different, with a goal to raise $10,000 in honor of Greg’s life and support the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation's® (MHIF) vision to create a world without heart and vascular disease.

Please join us! On Saturday, October 8 at French Regional Park in Plymouth, MN. Greg loved running the trails at French Park and his running friends dedicated a memorial bench for Greg there so it's the perfect spot! We'll have a 5k run/walk and kids dash. It's a family friendly event - the more the merrier.

100% of proceeds will go to MHIF's Heart Rhythm Science CenterLearn more about heart rhythm research here.

If you participated in Riebe Run in the past and received a t-shirt, please wear the shirt again this year and share in social media posts – more details below.

About Greg

Greg was an amazing father, friend, and active participant in the Twin Cities running scene. Sadly, his life was cut short due to a sudden and unexpected heart condition. He had a rare, genetic form of heart disease called arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) that he did not know he had; he had no signs or symptoms.

About Kate

After Kate’s husband Greg passed away because of an undetected genetic heart condition, she became a passionate advocate for heart health. She, along with some of Greg’s friends, started the Riebe Run in 2016 to honor Greg and raise money for the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. Kate and Greg’s two children look forward to celebrating their Dad with the annual Riebe Run. Kate hopes that the Riebe Run will bring awareness to genetic heart conditions and that the funds raised will support MHIF’s heart disease research and education.
