Congratulations to Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute physicians recognized as Top Doctors for 2025. Top Doctors are nominated by other doctors in the Twin Cities area. Final selections are based on extensive research and peer review.

We are thrilled to announce that the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) has been recognized as a 2025 Top Workplace by Minnesota Top Workplaces, an honor based entirely on the voices of our employees. This recognition underscores our commitment to fostering a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment as we pursue our mission to improve the cardiovascular health of individuals and communities through innovative research and education.

Every summer, the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) opens its cutting-edge labs and clinics to a select group of aspiring physicians. The Clinical Research Internship Program typically receives hundreds of applicants; 12 of those will participate in this summer’s deep dive into cardiovascular medicine, immersing themselves in day-to-day care and clinical research.

Last November, the Otto Bremer Trust (OBT) generously made a $550,000 grant to support innovative cardiovascular education initiatives at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF).

The American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Session (ACC.25) is held in Chicago, March 29 - 31, 2025. This international gathering is focused on everything in cardiovascular care, including the latest in science and innovation, and practice-changing updates in care. AHMHI physicians and MHIF research staff will play a significant role in almost 40 sessions, including 20 poster abstracts, 7 moderated abstracts, 7 podium presentations, and chairing or co-chairing 4 sessions. In total, over 60 physicians and research staff, including scholars, fellows, and interns will be acknowledged as lead or co-authors.

The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation announced today it received a $5 million transformational gift from Armand and Mary Brachman to accelerate medical education programs with global reach, including training for the next generation of healthcare providers. The gift will establish the Armand and Mary Brachman Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Learning and Education, continuing a core commitment of the MHIF mission to share learnings from research around the world and inspire the rising generation of medical providers trained in world-class cardiovascular care.
