Valve in Valve Digital Application
MHIF is proud to support Dr. Vinayak Bapat and the ViV Digital Application as part of its commitment to world-class cardiovascular research and sharing insights and learnings to improve care for patients around the world.
As science evolves, innovation is alive and well in the world of transcatheter technologies for valvular heart disease. These advances are moving at a pace that emphasizes the opportunity and responsibility for Heart Teams to share insights that will continue to improve care for all patients.
As these technologies advance and grow, so does the importance of commitment – from all physicians – to collaborate and share insights, perspectives and learnings with the ultimate goal of improving care and outcomes for all patients.
This has been a passion of Dr. Vinayak Bapat’s since he began his career in cardiac surgery. Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation is proud to support this digital platform as a perfect example of sharing learnings from research to advance care for patients around the world.
Through Dr. Bapat’s dedication to continuous innovation and MHIF’s commitment to supporting this important work, an update to this digital platform is now available. The name and utility of this digital resource remain constant, but in the new update, you’ll see new features:
- Case of the month: We will share examples of cases, and invite our colleagues to submit cases to share to accelerate our collective learning
- Identify a Valve: Often we encounter a patient with an unknown valve prosthesis. This algorithm will help you identify a valve based on imaging.
- Valve Fracture: Valve fracturability information has been added for reference.
You’ll see the collection of images and videos growing, with additional detail and learnings related to transcatheter technologies.
We appreciate the amazing contributions that began with Dr. Bapat and have also come from global colleagues who have been part of growing the information available through this digital resource.
