The Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center (CIRC) and Core Lab team is looking for a kind, curious, and dedicated person to help drive innovations and advance medical discoveries. Supporting the furtherance of the research and its dissemination with MHIF’s Research team, this Research Associate position supports day-to-day research activities, working side-by-side with international leaders in cardiovascular imaging. Job Summary:
MHIF has a robust portfolio of Imaging Research that spans centralized imaging analysis for multicenter industry-sponsored trials as well as investigator-initiated research studies. The Research Associate works closely with imaging analysts and physician researchers on a portfolio of research studies. This role is responsible for tracking and organizing imaging studies as they are received and move through the research workflow in the Core Lab. Cardiac imaging includes cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and echocardiograms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Download, track, and organize cardiac imaging studies as they are received
  • Perform initial quality control review on imaging studies to ensure imaging studies are properly de-identified
  • Collaborate with imaging analysts to document any imaging quality deficiencies
  • Perform quality assurance review of imaging analysis reports and case report forms
  • Perform data entry in electronic data capture systems
  • Track completed analyses and maintain project metrics
  • Communicate effectively with analysts, physicians, and industry sponsors
  • Document team meeting minutes and action items
  • Draft project-specific imaging core lab manuals with input from team members
  • Ensure compliance with Core Lab Standard Operating Procedures and sponsor-specific requirements
  • When applicable, extract patient data from medical record or other source documents and enter into a registry, database or other study system
  • Provide other support to the Core Lab or Scientific Services team and work collaboratively with all MHIF employees as part of a positive, supportive culture


Relationships:

Reports to the Senior Advanced Cardiac Imaging Analyst, with frequent interaction with other colleagues within CIRC and Core Lab team including other research associates, international physician scholars, other MHIF staff, Minneapolis Institute (MHI) physicians, Abbott Northwestern staff and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
  • Collaborative, high attention to detail, strong ability to organize projects and documents, and ability to create thorough documentation
  • A mature conscientious individual with the ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to manage work across multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others as a team and in support of a positive work culture
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft suite including Excel
  • Strong technical aptitude and enjoys working with databases and software tools
  • Previous experience or exposure to research is preferred


Physical Demands:

Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.

Additional Comments:

This position is primarily onsite. However, once established, there is some flexibility for hybrid working with prior manager approval. This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive.
