Where Purpose Meets Progress

At the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF), your work unlocks new knowledge, supports patient-centered care, and advances cardiovascular research and education. As a Research Assistant, you’ll do more than support studies—you’ll help propel a mission that changes and saves lives.

Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center (CIRC) and Core Lab Research Associate supports day-to-day research activities, working side-by-side with international leaders in cardiovascular imaging.  MHIF has a robust portfolio of Imaging Research that spans centralized imaging analysis for multicenter industry-sponsored trials as well as investigator-initiated research studies.

The Research Associate works closely with imaging analysts and physician researchers on a portfolio of research studies.  This role is responsible for tracking and organizing imaging studies as they are received and move through the research workflow in the Core Lab. This position is primarily onsite. However, once established, there is some flexibility for hybrid working with prior manager approval.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Download, track, and organize cardiac imaging studies as they are received
  • Perform initial quality control review on imaging studies to ensure imaging studies are properly de-identified
  • Collaborate with imaging analysts to document any imaging quality deficiencies
  • Perform quality assurance review of imaging analysis reports and case report forms
  • Perform data entry in electronic data capture systems
  • Track completed analyses and maintain project metrics
  • Communicate effectively with analysts, physicians, and industry sponsors
  • Document team meeting minutes and action items
  • Draft project-specific imaging core lab manuals with input from team members
  • Ensure compliance with Core Lab Standard Operating Procedures and sponsor-specific requirements
  • When applicable, extract patient data from medical record or other source documents and enter into a registry, database or other study system.
  • Provide other support to the Core Lab or Scientific Services team and work collaboratively with all MHIF employees as part of a positive, supportive culture.
