The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation’s® (MHIF) Cardiac Valve Center leads the industry in minimally invasive, non-surgical valve repair and replacement. Thousands of patients with degenerative valve disease are not candidates for conventional heart surgery due to their age or other health issues. And as health care is transformed to improve outcomes, finding effective treatments which offer quicker recovery times is critical. Researchers at MHIF partner with medical device manufacturers and medical colleagues to provide those with valve disease new treatment options that ideally improve quality of life. MHIF leads the industry in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures. MHIF’s expertise is widely shared at industry conferences, and brought cardiologists from around the world to our 2014 Valve Summit. Practitioners learn from MHIF’s research of innovative new valve devices such as SAPIEN 3 , Tendyne and MitraClip®.
