On Tuesday, June 13, donors and physicians attended Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation’s annual Founders to the Future event. Held at The Minikahda Club, the generosity of those gathered was celebrated along with the 35thanniversary of MHIF. Current MHIF interns presented their recent research and how working at MHIF has impacted their lives; life-saving patient stories were shared and Patty Peterson, singer and patient, provided entertainment. The evening also featured the unveiling of the Van Tassel Society, named in honor of MHIF Founder Dr. Robert Van Tassel and his wife, Betty. The Van Tassel Society recognizes donors who have named MHIF in their estate plans, providing future funding for education and research on heart and vascular disease.
