We are thrilled to share in the launch of the Journal of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. Minneapolis Heart Institute was formed in 1981 with the goals of providing expert clinical care, educating the public and health care community, and advancing the field of cardiology through research. In the subsequent 35 years, it has grown to a practice of over 70 cardiovascular physicians and is rated as one of the best cardiovascular centers in the world.

Minneapolis Heart Institute provides cardiovascular care through our multiple centers of excellence. From prevention of cardiovascular disease to cardiovascular emergencies and cardiac transplantation, delivering the highest level of care is principal to our mission. In addition, the rising costs of cardiovascular care make it imperative that Minneapolis Heart Institute lead in the reform of cardiovascular care delivery. The Minneapolis Heart Institute Center for Healthcare Delivery Innovation is a novel cardiovascular model that focuses on improving quality, reducing costs, decreasing care variation, and improving care coordination across the continuum.

The launch of the journal allows us to continue to advance our foundation’s mission of education and research. Our dictum, “You can’t think big enough,” continues stronger today than ever before. Over the past 35 years, Minneapolis Heart Institute has developed a culture of excellence, which is necessary to drive the highest level of cardiovascular care and develop innovative approaches to high value care delivery and research. We are so excited to share the journal with you!
