The Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) program is looking for a kind, curious, and dedicated person to join our team to help drive innovations and advance medical discoveries. This is a great role for an organized, strategic systems-thinker with the desire to improve efficiency and ensure impact.  As a Research Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the progress of a large and diverse portfolio of cardiovascular IIR studies. Working together with clinical investigators and research and informatics teams, you will help improve internal processes and identify and remove barriers to ensure projects’ success.


Essential Functions:

  1. Manage a portfolio of IIR studies providing professional guidance of the study conduct in line with research processes
  2. Facilitate project planning and align resources to meet the milestones and deliverables
  3. Support the development and execution of research studies including help with study intake, partnering with regulatory and compliance, and assisting biostatisticians with information gathering
  4. Manage and monitor single and multicenter study conduct including budgeting, contracting, invoicing, site communications, study progress and status updates
  5. Aid communications and reporting between research teams and supporting personnel to help facilitate study conduct and remove barriers to progress
  6. Help with onboarding and training of new research team members
  7. Assist dissemination efforts by helping plan and monitor conference and manuscript submissions
  8. Work collaboratively with all MHIF employees as part of a positive, supportive culture



This position reports to the Director of IIR and Data Science.  In this role you will be working closely with clinical investigators, international MD’s/research scholars, and the IIR team to actively enable research efforts.




  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, informatics, science, or related fields.
  • At least two years of professional experience managing projects utilizing project management methodology and tools.  A history of moving projects forward in a research setting
  • Skilled in project management, meeting facilitation, and communication across a broad range of audiences, including Key Opinion Leader physicians
  • Solid understanding of clinical investigator-initiated research and research processes
  • Experience developing and improving processes to optimize research conduct
  • Ability to work independently, think creatively, and be a problem-solver while also collaborating fully
  • A team-player with strong interpersonal and listening skills to uncover project issues, and contributing to a positive work culture
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills



  • Experience with cardiology research

In this position, you must be able to:

  • Work at a computer for long periods of time
  • Work during non-traditional working hours (evenings and weekends) on occasion
