
Cardiovascular Innovations (CVI) Digital 2020 was held July 10-11, 2020, and Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® (MHIF) was well represented with 16 research physicians along with four MHIF foreign scholars taking part in 16 live sessions and 21 on-demand videos and posters.
Dr. Emmanouil Brilakis, Chairman of MHIF’s Center for Coronary Artery Disease, and Dr. Paul Sorajja, Roger L. and Lynn C. Headrick Family Chair of MHIF’s Valve Science Center, both serve on the four-member board for the annual conference, which is a world-class meeting focused on state-of-the-art therapy for peripheral, coronary and structural heart disease.
MHIF was also proud to have three MHIF international scholars among 63 semi-finalists in the conference’s Challenging Case Competition. Through MHIF’s International Scholar program, practicing physicians from countries around the world come to MHIF for a one- to two-year commitment to advance cardiovascular research.
In the Challenging Case Competition, clinicians from across the globe submit their most challenging, innovative or educational case in the categories of Coronary, Structural, and Peripheral/ Podiatry. Cases are reviewed by the directors and the best cases were presented during CVI 2020 Digital. The MHIF semi-finalists and their cases were:
