MHIF at CVI 2019

MHIF was well represented at the 2019 Cardiovascular Innovations conference in Denver, CO in July. Dr. Paul Sorajja, Roger L. and Lynn C. Headrick Family Chair for Valve Science Research at MHIF’s Valve Science Center, and Dr. Manos Brilakis, Chair of MHIF’s Complex CAD Science Center are both Course Directors. Check out some photos below of MHIF researchers & staff!

Highlights from the 2019 conference included:

  • The upcoming importance of the tricuspid regurgitation trials in structural heart disease
  • An update on available novel mitral valve therapies and progress on clinical trials
  • An emphasis on imaging techniques to help improve procedural outcomes
  • How to intervene upon complex lesions
  • How to handle complications in the cath lab, specifically involving ACS and shock patients
  • A review of vascular disease states including acute and chronic venous disease, common femoral, SFA and popliteal disease, as well as the current and novel treatments available to help patients with these diseases
  • An update on treating wounds and when functional amputation should be considered for limb salvage
