The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation will educate professionals about advancements in cardiovascular medicine through the Journal of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
Minneapolis, MN – February 20, 2017 – For 35 years, the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) has been fully committed to eradicating heart and vascular disease. Now MHIF is proud to announce a new initiative that will allow the organization to continue leading in the research and professional education fields: the launch of the Journal of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (JMHIF), which published its first issue in January 2017.
JMHIF will inform and educate medical professionals about new learnings, literature and clinical practices within the field of cardiovascular medicine. The Journal will publish original content from investigators working to answer challenging clinical questions, making new information available to practicing physicians. The goal: improve patient outcomes by furthering practitioners understanding of the latest cardiovascular research and clinical practices.
“We are excited to take our expertise in cardiovascular health to another level,” said Timothy Sullivan, MD, researcher and Editor-in-Chief of JMHIF. “By getting this information and education out to more researchers and practitioners, we have the opportunity to move the needle in cardiovascular care.”
The first issue contains sixteen articles spanning the spectrum of cardiovascular medicine. Kristine Fortman, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, notes, “The Journal showcases the collaboration across our entire organization. We have consistently asked and answered tough cardiovascular disease questions changing care locally, nationally and globally. Launching the Journal is just one more game-changing way MHIF is able to impact the sector.”
JMHIF will be published twice per year and will be available in print and digital formats. For more information, or to subscribe visit www.mplsheart.org/journal.
